  1. ① Make sure the glass windows won’t break during the typhoon.

「If windows have shutters」

・Ensure that the shutters are secured properly. Lock them if necessary.

「If the windows do not have shutters」

・Install security film or anti-shattering film to the windows. If not available, use duct tape and tape the window glass as shown below (vertically, horizontally, and diagonally):

・In the event that the glass got shattered due to strong winds of the typhoon, avoid going near it and wait for the typhoon to subside. If due to some circumstances when you need to  go near the shattered glass, wear slippers or shoes and be mindful on where you are stepping.

② Electricity, water, and gas might temporarily stop during a typhoon.

・Charge up your mobile phones to full power and prepare flashlights and extra batteries.

・Prepare in advance food that are ready to eat or those that do not require cooking.

Also, fill up your bathtub with water (water will be used for flushing the toilet, etc.)

③ When going outside after the typhoon, pay attention to your surroundings and refrain

from getting close to fallen electrical poles or lamps in order to avoid being electrocuted.

Stay indoors and avoid going outside during a typhoon as much as possible.
