How to Send off Clients Who Visit the Company
In business terminology, clients or visitors who visit your company are called raikyaku. When you send off a client, consider yourself as a
representative of your company, thus, it is your responsibility to politely send off the client so that they can go home comfortably.
This time, let us study the basic way of seeing off clients:
[At the elevator hall]
When you get to the hallway, press the elevator button.
When the elevator arrives, press the button while holding the door with your hand and lead the client inside with your hand by saying [douzo].
After the client has boarded and looks back to you, say 「honjitsu arigatou gozaimashita. Shitsurei shimasu」 while bowing deeply.
Continue bowing deeply until the elevator door closes.
[At Entrance Doorway]
When the elevator arrives and there are no passengers, first say [shitsurei shimasu] and get inside.
In contrast, if there are passengers, let the client get inside the elevator first. When you get to the floor you want to get off at, press the
open button to drop the client first. It is helpful to indicate the direction of the exit, such as [migi de gozaimasu].
Guide the client until the exit. When arriving at the entrance doorway, bow again deeply and say [honjitsu ha arigatou gozaimasu].
[Until the Client Boards a Car]
When seeing off the client to the car, stand behind your superior or on the see-off side. Even after bowing, keep your posture correct until the car
boarded by the client is already distant.
What do you think, everyone? The procedure of seeing off clients depends on the relationship between the clients or depends on the company organization. In addition, the rules may differ according to the company, so do confirm it with your supervisor and follow the rules in your workplace.
