Origami or paper folding is strongly associated with Japan’s culture.

Origami is a fun game where you can create various shapes by folding a single piece of paper. The finished product ranges from animals to plants that is really pleasing to look at.

 

 

There are many types of origami and the kind of paper to be used. Aside from paper

commonly used for origami, other types of papers such as chiyogami, made from traditional Japanese paper, is also used.

 

One of the most common designs for origami is the “crane“. It is said that if one is able to fold a thousand cranes and connect them with a single string, the individual will be able to recover from any illness. Thus, thousand cranes are usually sent to the hospitalized people to wish for their fast recovery.
