Food Culture (Yoshoku or Western style food)
Unlike the authentic taste of Western cuisine, yoshoku is a Western-style dish that is adjusted for Japanese taste. It has become popular since the Meiji era and is still liked by Japanese families. Yoshoku can be often eaten at family restaurants.

- 1). Curry and rice: In comparison to Indian curry, Japanese curry rice has a sweet taste.
- 2). Omurice: A dish where omelet is served with chicken rice.
- 3). Hamburg: A meat dish with sauce that came from Germany’s “hamburg steak”.
4). Cream korokke: Based on the French croquette, it became a Japanese croquette.
5). Pasta: A special Japanese taste was created from Italian pasta. Recently, mushrooms and natto pasta are being served.
