Sumo is a competition wherein two bare men in loincloth will try to throw each other out of the ring through tackling, pushing, shoving etc. You win if you take your opponent out of the ring. Some sumo matches can be seen on TV although there are still a number of people who don’t know much about the sport. Sumo began a hundred of years ago and the form that exists now dates way back to the Edo period. Sumo is also considered Japan’s national sport.
