State of Emergency: Police Hotline 110 (For Traffic Accident and Crime)
The hotline number, 110, is an emergency phone line that you can use in case a traffic accident, theft, pickpocket, or fraud has occurred.
If you call 110, you will be asked if there was a “traffic accident” or a “crime”. You will be asked where the accident or crime occurred, and you will be asked to provide your name and telephone number as the caller.
- If there is someone who is injured, call 110 and the police will call an ambulance for you. In case of an accident, when you call the police, do not leave the scene until a police officer will arrive (except when you are injured).
- Exchange contact information (name, address, phone number) with the other person involved in the accident.
- Report to the insurance company that there was an accident and let them correspond to the situation.
- In the case you have been a victim of a crime such as snatching, burglary, physical assault, stalking, or in connection to a criminal syndicate, please inform the police.
Since this is an emergency hotline for emergency purposes only, please do not use this number for inquiries, consultations, or other non-emergency cases.
Compatible phones such as landlines, public phones, mobile phones and PHS phones can call 110, but not for IP phones.
From landlines and payphones, the address of your location will be automatically known even without informing your address.
