Meishi koukan or Business Card Exchange

In Japan, people greet each other while exchanging meishi or business cards.
Meishi koukan is a custom where a person gives out his meishi with both hands and the other person receives it with both of his hands.

How to give your meishi
Take the meishi out from your business card holder or meishi ire and move it to face the opposite direction in order for the other person to read it easily. Keep your elbows close together and hold the meishi up to the level of your chest.
Greet with a slight bow while saying [Company name , department, (Your name) to moushimasu]. Present your meishi to the other person’s direction.
When holding your meishi, be careful that your fingers do not cover some letters.

How to receive a meishi
Receive the other person’s meishi with both of your hands. Be careful not to cover the letters with your fingers. Say [Choudai itashimasu] while receiving the meishi.
