“Tataki Bashi” Or Tapping With Chopsticks

Tataki bashi is tapping the table or kitchenware with chopsticks to make noise or to call someone. Long ago, it was said that when a person taps chopsticks, a demon will come. It is also believed to invite evil spirits in the home. However, calling someone by tapping chopsticks or kitchenware is considered a rude manner. Maybe you may hear others saying this phrase, [Gohan mada?] or [No food yet?] while tapping plates with chopsticks. However, this is a manner violation, thus, should not be done. If you do eaten to make music using kitchenware, you should do it during your free time and not during a meal.
