“Otoshi” at an “Izakaya”
When you enter an “Izakaya” or a Japanese pub, you may be immediately served an “otoshi” or appetizer. The “otoshi” will still be charged to the bill even if you didn’t order it. Foreigners may think it is an unnecessary meal that they need to pay but for Japanese people, it is a normal custom.
