State of Emergency: Fire Department Hotline 119 (For Emergency and Fire)
The hotline number, 119, is an emergency phone line that you can use when you need an ambulance in case of illness or injury. It will connect you to the fire department.
When calling 119, you will be asked if there is a fire or emergency. Please inform them from the beginning of the call if it is an emergency or fire. Next, you will be asked for the location, the nearby landmarks such as buildings (name), and your phone number. Please answer calmly in a loud voice.
Furthermore, in case of a fire, inform your neighbors that there is a fire by saying,
“Kaji da!”, in a loud voice. To prevent a fire, please implement fire prevention and review the following points:
- Do not use multi-outlet extension cord.
- Extinguish the fire when moving away from the stove.
- Extinguish cigarette fire completely.
- Keep burnable objects away from the stove.
Since this is an emergency hotline for emergency purposes only, please do not use this number for inquiries, consultations, or other non-emergency cases. Ambulances are not available for minor injuries or illnesses.
Compatible phones such as landlines, public phones, mobile phones and PHS phones can call 110, but not for IP phones.
From landlines and payphones, the address of your location will be automatically known even without informing your address.
