Respect the Elderly and Experienced People in Your Workplace

In Japanese companies, it is common for newly hired staff to learn about the job from senior or senpai and from other experienced people. Senpai who have experience in the workplace can do everything very quickly and efficiently from completing daily tasks, reporting job status, contacting, and consulting other coworkers.

In the workplace, the senpai is expected to be polite and patient in explaining the tasks to the newly hired staff.

It is important to show your respect to your senpai at all times and not only during times of gratitude.

According to Japanese culture, not only the experienced people are respected, but also the elderly people or otoshi yori. In Japan, the culture that respects elderly and experienced people remains.

Japanese people express ways to respect their elderly, even during greetings and conversation.

When talking to an elderly person, speak politely and be careful of your language to avoid using inappropriate words.

In Japanese business manners, the respect of the elderly and experienced people is given much importance.
